Drum Tower) - King Rama I had the Drum Tower built in 1782. The three-storeyed tower features a wooden red structure replicating the style of the tower in Ayutthaya period. Each storey houses a big drum which gives different sound to convey a different message. The first drum named Yam Phra Surasri to signal dawn and dusk, the second drum named Akki Phinat signals a fire alarm, and the third drum named Phi Khat Phairi sounds a signal warning when invaders attack the city. In the reign of King Rama III, the tower rooftop was modified from Thai style of mondop to Chinese style. Later, it was changed back to its original form in the reign of King Rama IV. King Rama V had the tower demolished for building Chao Chet Park. A new tower of the same style was rebuilt in 1982 in the occasion of 200th anniversary of Bangkok.

King Vajiravudh Museum) - King Vajiravudh Museum os organized as a token of respect to the King whose name is the title of the museum, for His Royal initiative in setting up the Suea Pa Group, which originates the department of territorial defense in the present time. The person who initiated the organization of the museum is lieutenant general Yut Sombun, former director-general of the territorial defense department, who requested for the royal attire and personal belongings of the King to be kept at Vajiravudh building on the department's ground. Later, lieutenant general Han Phethai, another former director-general, had a building in Suan Chao Chet park renovated and had a museum organized in it in an academic fashion. The museum was opened to the public in 1999. Inside is the display of the biography of the King, his important activities, the royal attire and his royal belongings and personal utensils.

Ministry of Defence) - The original name was Rong Thaman Na (front barracks). This is the place where there were three palaces which constructed under the royal order of H.M. King Phra Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great, King Rama I. He graciously ordered the construction for his royal sons as follows, 1. Thanon Lak Mueang palace, palace No.2 was constructed and became the residence of Krommamuen Chit Phakdi (Prince Thap). 2. Thanon Lak Mueang palace, palace No.4 was constructed and to become the residence of Krommamuen Sri Suren (Prince Khantharot), and 3. Thanon Lak Mueang palace, palace No.5 Prince Damrong Rachanuphap presumed that it was built for his majesty's son, Prince Thap Thin, and later it was changed to be Rong Mai (Silk House) since the reign of King Rama III, until in the reign of King Rama V, his majesty graciously ordered to construct Rong Thaman Na to be used for the residence of the soldiers who guarded the capital city. It was also the warehouse of all arms, beast of burdens, vehicles and also various provisions. Chao Phraya Surasak Montri (Choem Saeng Chu Toh) was the controller of this construction, it was started in year 1881 and completed in 1884, and the official openning was took place on July 18, 1884. The budget of construction and decorations were about 570,000 baht. The building of the ministry of defence were built as a group buildings of the late European architectural style, and it was very popular in Thailand at that time.
