The King also had tamarind trees planted all around the park for shade, as in the avenues of European capitals. The ground also used to be Weekend Market for 25 years, which subsequently was moved to Chatuchak park most importantly, Sanam Luang is the ground for many important rituals and ceremonies, like the Royal Plouching ceremony and many other.
